Our Adoption Story

It is our dearest wish to adopt a child. Our family is the center of our life and the source of our happiness. We feel truly blessed, but we believe that there is room for more joy as we search to complete our family.

We live in the East Valley of the Phoenix, Arizona metro area in an ideal place to raise a family. We are Christians who value education, fun, family time, and service, love and kindness toward others.

We hope to get to know you, and invite you to get to know us. If you'd like to talk or ask any questions, email us at brentandjuliab@gmail.com or call 480-213-7141.

Slice of Life -- A quick look at who we are and what we do.

We are a family of four, looking to be a family of five or maybe six. We feel like there is at least one more child for our family, and we are searching to find that child.

Who:

Brent—Attorney with his own law practice, wonderful husband and awesome dad. English major. He loves to have adventures.

Julia—Stay at home mom, used to work in high tech marketing, writing and PR, ran own company for five years. English major. Loves to read and run. Crazy about her family.

John—Great older brother, excellent student, always on the go. Loves to play sports and ride his scooter.

Adam—Loving, sweet, creative and smart. Lego fiend. Looks after people and loves books.

Where:

We live in the East Valley in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. There is probably not a more perfect place to raise a family. Our neighborhood has tree-lined streets and fun play parks.

My kids love this park. This is the hub for all sorts of fun with friends.

This is the sidewalk right by our house. I think it's so lovely in the evening when the sun hits the leaves and makes them glow.
This is our home. We have plenty of room for another child. We love living here.
There are kids everywhere to play with and we have great neighbors. Our kids go to a wonderful school that has received national recognition for excellence. There are fun biking trails, a fully-stocked fishing pond and a nature preserve within a half mile of our home.

What:

This is what life typically looks like. Our boys go to school during the week. Brent works at his law firm. I get the kids off to school, then run and work on managing our household. I help Brent with some of his marketing projects and spend time working on our efforts to adopt.

Sometimes I volunteer at our kids' school, teaching art classes or chaperoning field trips, which I really enjoy.

I pick up carpool in the afternoons then manage the boys' daily activities which include homework, sports practices, music lessons, cub scouts, karate and play dates.

This last year I was the den leader for John's cub scout wolf den.

We really support our kids in discovering and developing their interests and talents, so they are always involved in something that enriches their lives. They get to pick their activities, and it has been a joy to see them grow and flourish.

We have dinner together every night except for the occasional evening when Brent works late.

At bedtime there are glorious snuggles.

Weekends can bring a date for Julia and Brent, frequently to Thai food since Brent loves his wife. Saturdays often include the boys' games in the morning, some work around the house, and a fun adventure in the afternoon. Sunday we go to church and, when the weather's nice, take an afternoon family bike ride or enjoy being outdoors. On Sundays there is almost always an extra yummy dinner and something tasty for dessert.

Summers include several vacation getaways, almost daily swimming, afternoons on the lake, sport camps, art lessons, and lots of fun activities with friends.

Why:

We feel so blessed in our family and in our life together. We are hoping to share these blessings and all our love with another child.
